From Numbers to Words: Why I Quietly Started a Blog

If I’m being honest…
this blog has been on my to-do list for over a year.

You know those things that keep getting pushed from quarter to quarter?
“Maybe next month.”
“Maybe when things slow down.”
“Maybe when I feel more ready.”

That was this.

Not because I didn’t think it mattered—
but because there was a lot of resistance behind it.

Because writing isn’t my thing.

Numbers are.

2 + 2 will always equal 4.
It’s clear. It’s structured. It makes sense.

But words?
To, too, two… all mean different things, and somehow I’m supposed to just know when to use them?

There’s a vulnerability that comes with writing that I don’t feel when I’m inside someone’s books.

In bookkeeping, I’m confident.
I know how to find the errors.
I know how to clean things up.
I know how to get it down to the penny.

But writing?
That felt exposed.

So I avoided it.

The Truth Behind the Delay

It wasn’t lack of time.

It was fear.

Fear of:

  • Saying something the wrong way

  • Not sounding “professional enough”

  • Being judged for grammar or wording

  • Putting something out there that wasn’t perfect

And for a long time, that fear won.

What Changed

Honestly… nothing dramatic.

No big breakthrough moment.
No perfect plan.

Just a quiet realization:

I was tired of putting it off.

At the same time, I noticed something practical—
my website SEO was low.

And instead of overthinking it, I thought:

What if I just tried?

No pressure.
No expectation.
No “this has to turn into something big.”

Just… start.

Why This Blog Exists

This blog isn’t here to be perfect.

It’s here to:

  • Simplify the financial side of business

  • Help wellness business owners understand their numbers

  • Share what I see every day inside client books

  • Teach in a way that actually feels calm and doable

Because here’s what I know for sure:

So many business owners are doing incredible work—
but feel disconnected from their numbers.

And that’s not because they don’t care.
It’s because no one ever taught them in a way that made sense.

That’s what I want to change.

From Numbers to Words

Even as someone who prefers numbers…
I’m choosing to show up in a new way.

Not because it’s easy.
But because it matters.

Because if I can explain something in a way that finally clicks for someone—
that’s worth it.

Even if I misspell a word along the way.

Where This Goes

I don’t know exactly where this blog will lead.

Maybe it grows into something big.
Maybe it becomes a resource library.
Maybe it simply supports the clients I’m already working with.

Or maybe…

It just becomes a place where I show up, imperfectly, and share what I know.

Either way—

That feels like enough right now 🩵🌊

Here is your sign to move through the fear and start that task you have been putting off for a long time too.
